Star Wisdom is based on Western Sidereal Astrology which can be traced back to the School of Zarathustra, 6th century BCE. This wisdom stream was further developed in the early 20th century by the Austrian philosopher and spiritual scientist Rudolf Steiner who gave substantial indications for the renewal of Astrology through “Astrosophy” or Star (Astro) Wisdom (Sophia).

Much has been accomplished in the revivification of Western Sidereal Astrology as Star Wisdom and Astrosophy through the dedicated, devoted and outstanding research by Elisabeth Vreede, Willi Sucher, Lili Kolisko, Hazel Straker, Robert Powell, Beredene Jocelyn, Norman Davidson, Peter Treadgold, David Tressemer, Brian Gray, Robert Schiappacasse, Claudia McLaren Lainson, Jonathan Hilton, Joel Matthew Park, Julie Humphries and many others.

There are myriad layers to Star Wisdom and Astrosophy and a variety of ways in which it is approached and practised. At the heart of it, as Julie Humphries states on page 1 in Awakening to the Spiritual Archetypes in the Birth Chart_From Astrology to Astrosophy, "Astrosophy is a spiritual account of the heavenly bodies and of our interaction with them." Astrosophy is similarly described by Jonathan Hilton in Speaking to the Stars: An Introduction to Astrosophy as "the spiritual-scientific understanding of our new and enhanced relationship to the world of stars." He further states, "Rudolf Steiner spoke of the visible stars as the physical manifestation of a complex and exalted world of spiritual beings who, in the past, helped to shape and guide humanity in its evolution."(page XXV). The time is now ripe for humanity to once again Speak to the Stars by developing a living relationship to the starry realms and the spiritual beings therein, so that with them we may co-create our future destiny as beings of freedom and love.

A J Rose's approach to the practice of Star Wisdom began in 1996 with her studies in Anthroposophy at Parsifal College Sydney, Australia. Prior to this time she had studied astrology through the College of Humanistic Astrology, Sydney which gave her a foundation in modern and traditional techniques within the framework of the tropical zodiac. At Parsifal College, she was blessed to be mentored by Susan Harris who introduced her to Willi Sucher's Man and The Stars, The Changing Countenance of Cosmology, Practical Approach Towards A New Astrosophy as well as "The Mercury Star Journal". A new, more living and inspiring world of understanding the starry realms was thereby unveiled.
